Highlighting Tampa Bay Downs’ ten-race card for Saturday are two ungraded stakes races sponsored by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association (FTBOA): The Marin County Florida Sires Stakes, and the City of Ocala Florida Sire Stakes.
I review Saturday’s three richest races (including those two stakes races) at Tampa Bay Downs, but you can find their entire ten-race card at any of the best horse racing betting sites.

Read on for my predictions for Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Tampa Bay Downs.
This is the FTBOA Marion County Florida Sire Stakes, an ungraded stakes race for FTBOA registered Florida-bred and -sired colts and gelding three years old and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $100,000.
I like the second-favored (3/1) entry here — Jackson, with Antonio A. Gallardo in the irons. This four-year-old colt moneyed 13 of his 19 career starts, winning six of them.
There’s one longer-odds entry in this seven-horse race, but I don’t see that happening, so we’ll save our long money for later.
This is the FTBOA City of Ocala Florida Sire Stakes, an ungraded stakes race for FTBOA registered Florida-bred and -sired fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $100,000.
I agree with the morning line in this race and am betting my two bucks on the 5/2 favorite — Heiressall, with Antonio A. Gallardo aboard. This five-year-old mare moneyed 12 of her 19 career starts, winning six of them.
That 50/1 longshot you see on the card for this race? That is definitely not going to happen, so put those prayer beads away. In fact, there are no long-odds entries in this race likely to finish in the money. Notice how that bankroll in your pocket isn’t getting smaller? That called not-losing. It’s considered nearly as good as winning in some circles. You could look it up.
This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $22,250.
Looks like it’s going to be a very good day for Antonio A. Gallardo, who’s astride the 3/1 morning line favorite (and my pick) Crown and Sugar. This five-year-old mare moneyed 18 of her 34 career starts, winning 13 of them.
At 20/1, I have to like Caught Up in You, with Jose C. Ferrer in the irons, for a value show wager. This four-year-old filly finished in the money 15 of her 21 career starts, winning four.
Tampa Bay Downs provided plenty for us to gloat about, and I found even more to cheer about at the other two tracks I reviewed for Saturday:
